Add your website

Teach Ansa from your website: it reads your pages, including ones built with JavaScript, up to your plan's page limit, and re-reads them when your site changes.

Add your website

  1. Open Knowledge and choose the Website tab.
  2. Type your Website address, for example yourbusiness.com.
  3. Click Read this website.

It shows as Ready in the Source library, usually within a couple of minutes.

What Ansa reads from your website

  • Pages on your site, up to 20 pages on Free, 100 on Starter, 500 on Pro and 1,000 on Business.
  • PDFs linked from your pages.
  • Pages built with JavaScript (common on Wix and Framer), up to 25 per read.

It skips login, account, cart and checkout pages, pages your site blocks, and images, videos and Word or Excel files. Upload those as documents instead.

Check what Ansa read

Click your website in the Source library to see every page and its status. Pages marked Skipped or Couldn’t read aren't used. See Fix pages Ansa couldn't read.

When your website changes

Ansa doesn't notice changes by itself. After you update your site:

  1. Open Knowledge.
  2. Click the refresh icon next to your website, or open it and click Read again.

Ansa keeps using the old version until the new read finishes. If the read fails, the old version stays and you'll see Needs attention: click Try again later.

For urgent changes, like new opening hours, also add a Q&A pair. It works straight away.

Website size limits

Everything Ansa reads counts towards your knowledge size (1 MB on Free, up to 50 MB on Business). If your site doesn't fit, Ansa reads what it can and shows Needs attention. Remove old sources or upgrade.
