Terms of Service
Terms of service, without the fog.
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms explain how Ansa works as a service between us and your business: what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how billing works. We’ve kept them as plain as we can.
1. Accepting these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Kunolu Applications Inc. (“Ansa”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use Ansa: our website, dashboard, chat widget and hosted chat pages (the “service”).
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Ansa.
2. Business use and eligibility
Ansa is for businesses, including sole traders. By using it, you confirm that you are using it for your trade, business or profession, not as a consumer.
If you accept these terms for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and “you” means that organisation. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 18.
3. Your account and its security
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your sign-in details safe and don’t share them.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- Tell us straight away at hello@ansa.chat if you think someone has used your account without permission.
4. The service, and AI answers
Ansa lets you build an AI assistant that answers your customers’ questions from the information you provide, on your website or through a shareable link. It helps with common questions. It doesn’t replace you or your staff.
AI answers can be wrong. Ansa is designed to answer only from your information and to say when it doesn’t know, but AI can still make mistakes, misread your content or give incomplete answers. You are responsible for:
- testing your assistant before and after you publish it;
- keeping your knowledge accurate and up to date;
- reviewing conversations, and the answers your assistant gives your customers;
- not using it for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical advice, or for decisions that significantly affect people.
We improve and change Ansa over time. If a change significantly reduces what your paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.
5. Your content
“Your content” means the website pages you ask us to read, the files, text and Q&A you add, your assistant’s settings, and the conversations your assistant has with your visitors.
You own your content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process and display it only as needed to provide, secure and support the service for you. This licence ends when your content is deleted. We never use your content to train AI models.
You confirm that:
- you have the rights and permissions needed for everything you add, including permission to have Ansa read any website you ask it to read;
- your content doesn’t break the law or anyone else’s rights; and
- you won’t add sensitive personal data (such as health or financial records) that your customers wouldn’t expect a public assistant to know.
6. Your responsibilities to your visitors
Your website visitors and customers are your customers. For the conversations they have with your assistant, you agree to:
- have a privacy notice that explains your use of an AI chat assistant and that a service provider (Ansa) processes conversations for you;
- have a lawful basis for that processing under the data-protection laws that apply to you;
- make clear to visitors that they are chatting with an AI assistant where the law requires (Ansa assistants label themselves as AI, and you must not hide or remove that label); and
- handle your visitors’ requests about their data, with our help where needed.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Ansa to:
- break the law, mislead people, or pretend to be someone you are not;
- infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- publish content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent or otherwise harmful;
- send spam or malware, or collect visitors’ data in ways they wouldn’t expect;
- attack, overload, probe or get around the security or limits of the service, or access other customers’ data;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product; or
- make Ansa read websites you don’t control or have permission to use.
8. Plans, limits and fair use
Each plan includes a monthly number of answers and other limits shown on our pricing page. When you reach your monthly answer limit, your assistant pauses for visitors until the next month or until you upgrade. We never charge for extra answers automatically.
Limits are designed for normal use by one business. If your use puts the service at risk for others, for example through automated traffic, we may rate-limit it and will contact you to find a fix.
9. Fees and billing
- Subscriptions. Paid plans are monthly subscriptions, billed in advance by card through our payment processor. Prices are in US dollars. Your statement shows the charge as KUNOLU ANSA.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month, and we charge your card for the next month, until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from billing settings in your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then your workspace moves to the Free plan.
- Refunds. Fees are non-refundable, and we don’t refund partial periods, except where the law requires or we decide to in a particular case. If you think you were charged by mistake, email hello@ansa.chat.
- Switching plans. If you move between paid plans, the change takes effect straight away and your bill is adjusted for the time left in the period.
- Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change affects you. It applies from your next renewal after the notice period. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then.
- Taxes. Prices don’t include taxes unless we say so. You are responsible for any sales, VAT, GST or similar taxes, which we may add to your bill where required.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will let you know and retry over the following days. If it still can’t be collected, your workspace moves to the Free plan. Your assistant and data are kept, and you can choose a paid plan again at any time.
10. The Free plan
The Free plan costs nothing and has lower limits. We may change its limits or features, or stop offering it, with at least 30 days’ notice to affected users.
11. Suspension and termination
By you. You can stop using Ansa at any time. You can cancel a paid plan from billing settings, or delete your workspace and account in Settings.
By us. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, don’t pay, or put visitors, other customers or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also end the service for everyone with at least 60 days’ notice.
12. Your data when your account ends
If you delete your workspace, your account, assistant, knowledge, files and conversations are deleted straight away, as described in our Privacy Policy. This can’t be undone, so please copy anything you need first.
If we end your account for a reason other than a serious breach or a legal requirement, you will have 30 days from our notice to ask us at hello@ansa.chat for a copy of your content. After that, we delete it, except for records we must keep by law.
13. Data processing
For the personal data in your content, you are the controller and we are your processor (or service provider). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data for which we are the controller.
As your processor, we will:
- process that personal data only to provide the service and on your documented instructions;
- keep it confidential, and make sure our staff are bound by confidentiality;
- protect it with appropriate technical and organisational security measures;
- use sub-processors only under written terms that protect the data at least as well as these terms, and tell you about changes to them so you can object;
- help you respond to requests from individuals and meet your data-protection obligations;
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting your data;
- transfer it internationally only with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses; and
- delete it when your account ends, as described in section 12.
These processor terms form part of these terms. If you need a separately signed data processing agreement (DPA) or our current list of sub-processors, email privacy@ansa.chat.
14. Confidentiality
Each of us will keep the other’s non-public information confidential, use it only for the purposes of these terms, and share it only with people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential. This doesn’t apply to information that is public, already known, independently developed, or that must be disclosed by law.
15. Our intellectual property, and feedback
Ansa, including its software, design and brand, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you a limited, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active. They don’t transfer any ownership to you.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you. We won’t identify you publicly as their source without your permission.
16. Third-party services
Ansa works with services you choose to use, such as your website builder, sign-in with Google, the payment processor that handles your card, or WhatsApp and Slack if you connect them. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we aren’t responsible for them. If you add Ansa to a Slack workspace, you confirm you’re allowed to do so for that workspace.
17. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Ansa running well, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms. In particular, we don’t promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI answers will be accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose.
18. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data; and
- each party’s total liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you are on the Free plan, that amount is US$100.
These limits don’t apply to your payment obligations, your indemnity in section 19, or liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
19. Indemnity
You will defend and compensate us against claims, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) brought by third parties, including your visitors, that arise from your content, the answers your assistant gives based on it, your breach of these terms, or your breach of the law. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you control its defence, with our reasonable help.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date, and email account holders at least 30 days before significant changes take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you keep using Ansa after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then.
21. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be decided by the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, and both of us agree to their jurisdiction.
This doesn’t take away any protection you have under mandatory laws of the country where you are based, including in the European Union or the UK, that can’t be excluded by agreement. Where those laws give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, you keep that right.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
22. Notices
We will send notices to the email address on your account, or show them in your dashboard. You can send notices to us at hello@ansa.chat, or by post to Kunolu Applications Inc., 36 Benson Avenue, Orangeville, Ontario L9W 6T5, Canada.
23. General
- These terms, with the documents they refer to, are the whole agreement between us about Ansa.
- If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up.
- You may not transfer these terms without our written consent. We may transfer them to a company that takes over Ansa, and will tell you if we do.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as major outages of third-party networks, natural disasters or government action.
- We are independent parties. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership or agency.
- Sections that by their nature should continue after these terms end will continue.
